In Newsby Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

1. Come warm up here!

The weather outside is frightful, and our entire facility is indoors! The Conservatory temperature ranges from 24°C (75°F) to 28 ºC (82°F) with high humidity. We have the perfect mini tropical getaway – make sure you dress in layers.

2. Attend a Storytime

Every weekday at 11:00am our Nature Interpreters lead a story time activity that features some of our favourite bug- and nature-themed books. They follow up with an insect encounter with some of our incredible tropical bugs – a great activity for kids of all ages.

3. Cozy up in the Chrysalis Café

The Chrysalis Café is a great spot to sit and relax with a cup of hot chocolate, tea, or coffee. Enjoy hearty homemade soups made from scratch daily, fresh salads, delicious pizzas… the list goes on. Come sample our menu – you won’t regret it.

4. Cross some names off your list

With custom framed butterflies and insects, nature books, educational children’s toys, home decor, and clothing, our Gift Store has beautiful, unique gifts for all the people on your list this holiday season. If you’re looking to save time, you can purchase Annual Passes and Admission Tickets online – we’ll send you an email with your gift and you can print it right at home.
