A fantastic experience is best shared with your closest few, and paired with a delicious meal where you and yours can decompress and reminisce on the exciting day. After you emerge from our garden paradise and make your way to the Café, a beautiful hand-painted picnic table invites you to rest and take it all in.
Chrysalis Café at Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is one of 50 patios in Waterloo Region selected to showcase the talented work of local artists through the Art Fresco Public Art Project with Explore Waterloo Region, which aims “to inject some vibrancy into a sector that was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
All patio-season long the beautiful and functional artwork of local artist, Anne Williamson, is being enjoyed by visitors across The Region, and beyond. The picnic table features a stunning display of intricate, hand-painted butterflies, and includes a QR code that visitors can scan to learn more.
We invited Anne out to the Conservatory to see her art in action, while visiting she shared that Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory was actually her inspiration for the piece – we are so honoured to be the host venue featuring the beautiful display.
Summer is winding down but there’s still time to get out, explore The Region, and check out the hard work of these talented local artists. We can’t wait to welcome you!
