Cycling to Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory

Waterloo Region is home to an expanding network of on-road bikeways and multi-use trail systems that connect the region’s quaint townships and iconic urban centres. Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is a proud member of Ontario by Bike, an organization dedicated to helping cyclists find bicycle friendly places to eat, visit, and sleep.

Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory is located on Kossuth Road which is designated as an “on-road bikeway” with wide, paved shoulders. Be sure to check the local weather and our hours and admission prices before you depart. Bike racks are located around the perimeter of the parking lots.

Our cycling patrons can enjoy the following:

To help you with your journey to or from the Conservatory, Wroute can help connect you with the closest public transit stops! In the summer months, each Wroute vehicle is equipped with a bike rack that can hold up to two bicycles. In the winter months, be sure to book your ride in advance so they can accommodate your bike.

From Kitchener/Waterloo, by Grand River Transit bus:

Each Grand River Transit bus has a bike rack! CLICK HERE for a system map.

From Sportsworld Terminal you can take Route 72 and get off  at the Maple Grove and Boxwood stop. It is a 5km bike ride to the Conservatory.

From Conestoga College/Sportsworld/Cambridge Centre Station you can take the Route 203 iExpress and get off at the same stop.

From Fairview Mall Terminal you can take Route 23 and get off at the Fairway and Old Zeller Drive stop. It is a 3.8km bike ride to the Conservatory.

From Kitchener/Waterloo, using VIA Rail or GO Transit:

The Kitchener VIA Rail and GO Transit terminal is located at 126 Weber Street North, Kitchener, a 13km bike ride from the Conservatory.

From Guelph, by Guelph Transit bus:

All Guelph Transit buses are equipped with bike racks! CLICK HERE for a route map.

From Guelph Central Station, take Route 9 and get off at the Fife and Elmira Road stop. It is just over 11km to get to the Conservatory.
