DESCRIPTION:
Small to medium sized tree growing to 40 ft.; narrow leaves are strap-shaped with a central mid-rib; cones are borne on a short stem; scales swell to a reddish-purple berry appearance

CULTIVATION:
Water moderately in well drained soil; regular fertilizing will accelerate growth; part shade to full sun

PROPAGATION:
Hardware cuttings

COMMENTS:
Highly regarded as a feng shui tree in Japan.
