    Program Overview

Early Learning Program – Ages 3-5

Early Learning: Discover live examples of each stage in the life cycle of a butterfly and a beetle and learn the appropriate vocabulary (eg. the pupa for a butterfly is called a chrysalis and the pupa for a moth is called a cocoon). Our hands-on learning centres allow students to explore various aspects of butterflies and their life cycles up close.

Butterfly Conservatory: In our tropical garden, campers will meet thousands of free-flying butterflies, as well as turtles, goldfish, and 15 species of birds. They will also explore our interactive touch table and observe butterflies emerging from chrysalides and drying their wings.

Insect Encounter and Gallery Exhibits: Campers will have the opportunity to meet some of our live tropical insects up close and discover butterfly, moth, and other insect specimens from all over the world.

Day Camp Program – Ages 6-12

The Creepy Crawly Critter Show: A 30-minute game hosted by our specially trained ‘Critter Keepers’ (also known as interpreters!). The campers will be divided into two teams and will have a chance to spin the ‘Wheel of Mystery’ to learn their fate.
